Not exactly fresh Trek, but definitely not stale either, and still very, very good! For March we are showing Star Trek New Voyages latest published episode, World Enough and Time.

WEAT is 64 minutes and is the best thing they've done so far! I'm totally biased, but some notable people who aren't biased think so too. Darren Dochterman loves it. IMDB rates this episode 7.8 out of 10 stars - hardly anything does that well. This episode also won TV Guide 2007 award of best Sci Fi Web series and was nominated for the 2007 Nebula in the category of best script.

Some of us from Star Trek Phase II (nee New Voyages) will attend and will be happy to field your questions.

We are back at My house to see WEAT. Pot luck worked pretty well for us last time, so let's try it again -- except my wife has promised us a big batch of her famous chili! It's not fur nuthin' that this place is known as "Donnelly Diversified Shipyard, Chili Imporium, and Home for Wayward Children!" Y'all bring enough of your favorite drinks, snacks, and side dishes to share with your friends.

Meetup starts at 7:30 PM
WEAT start at 8 PM
Discussion ~9:15 PM

Hey, it's on a Friday! Come happy, eat lots, have fun, and stay late!

There were a lot of positive vibes at this meetup. We enjoyed the conversation as much as the videos. It was well attended both by veterans and new folks.

This was so much fun, especially meeting the new people and seeing the veterans again! The new episode is worthy of every award there is! Bravo!

I'm sorry I missed this one. I ended up getting sick and ended up sleeping the day away. I look forward to the next meetup.

Who attended?

    •  Being new to the New Voyages series I was quite impressed overall with the quality of the story and the production. In the back of my mind I was half expecting a conglomeration of stock footage and cardboard sets. Not so! Production values were equal if not higher than TV grade Sci-Fi. The story was top notch giving added dimension and depth to the character of Sulu. While I realize that the original actors are either too old or have gone to the great beyond. I found some of the new actors less than adequate. First and formost I found Kirk to be too young in appearance and lacking the emotional span for the part. Second: Bones lacked the "over the top" emotional volitilaty that made him the perfect foil to Spock. And finally I found Spock to be a bit to "human".
    •  I had a really good time this outing. I think it was the strawberry syrup covered M&M's.
    •  It was so nice meeting the new people and seeing the veterans again! I highly recommend this group! The new episode episode is wonderful and worthy of every award there is!
    •  This was the best Meetup yet! I thnk everyone had a ball. I know I did. It was a lot of fun talking with everyone about WEAT, seeing The Doomsday Machine, and meeting all the new folks.
    •  This was a great episode...I'm really enjoying the fan-films and am impressed by their quality --- in all aspects.
    •  Awesome movie. Enjoyed it thoroughly.
    •  A great movie/TV show
