"Its nice to get together again with the regulars, when they can make it. But it's nice, too, when there's a newby or two - an opportunity to express and relive our own favorite Trek experiences and catch them up on what's happening out there in Star Trek/Star Wars/Sci-fi land. In a short time, everybody's really into the Meet-up fun. "
"Gooooo Star Trek! "
"There are Trekkers and Trekkies, and I prefer to hang with Trekkers (serious people who have a life outside of Star Trek) rather than Trekkies (geeks and freaks who live, eat, and breathe Star Trek and are an embarrassment to us all). I'm so glad the other members of the Star Trek Meetup Group are Trekkers, not Trekkies! "
"Good group of enthusiastic people, it'll be a pleasure to organize for them and nothing's changed that. More people are coming , it's a pleasure to see people turning up to talk 'stars'!"

Star Trek.
One of the most successful shows in history. Has given birth to more spinoffs than any other show.
It is the most expansive universe in science fiction. It practically gave birth to a generation of computer scientists. It has influenced World Leaders and world politics. Its fandom is the largest fan base around. Actors in ST series are remember for years and years to come. Why?
Because there is a statement, no matter how you believe man got to where he is, it is because he is uncommon. He is separated from animals, we may not be alone in the universe, but we are uncommon. We watch Star Trek because it is about the best in us. We watch and face down gods and demons, artificial intelligence, our own creations, even time itself. We don't just go where no person has gone before, we plunge in and come back. We watch Star Trek for great stories about what we hope our children will do, what we've done and all the good and bad we've done along the way.
Why not come and join us as we explore the future, a great and grand place, as vast as the star-filled void of space, as subtle as an insignia for peace.

EXCLUSIVE!
Eugene Roddenbury(II) says Trek Nation will be out by the end of 2006.
Eugene Roddenbury, during a recent chat with his fans, on Roddenbury.com announced that he felt that his production, 'Trek Nation' will be released by the end of 2006. According to Eugene, there was a rough cut of the movie, however, he was not happy with the product and it is currently being re-cut. When asked if his mother had input into movie, he simply stated that he felt it was important that this "be my production. I need to leave the nest at some point. I think age 31 is a good time."
He also denied rumors of a new Star Trek series and denied knowledge of a new Star Trek movie, but stated that "Star Trek is not dead or gone. Paramount own an amazing and profitable property. I'm fairly certain they are just regroupoing. IT WILL be back. No one is that stupid"
-I have no life, I spent the night arranging the Eugene W. Roddenbury chat into readable sentence structure. I will be posting that up later on. In the meantime, anyone who wants the file can email me and I'll send it right out to you as a Microsoft Word document.
Majel Roddenberry is celebrating her 74th birthday! Born on Feb.23rd 1932 in Columbus OH. Majel was named after her mother's best friend. She has appeared as the original first officer, Nurse Chapel, Luxwana Troi(Daughter of the 5th House, Holder of the Sacred Chalice of Rixx, Heir to the Holy Rings of Betazed),
* She also provided the regular voice of starship onboard computers for the original Star Trek series, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Star Trek: Voyager, and the Star Trek movies. She reprised her role as a shipboard computer voice in two episodes of the prequel series Star Trek: Enterprise that involved later time periods.
As a result of her providing the computer voice in the Enterprise episode "In a Mirror, Darkly", Barrett became the first and only actor to participate in all six Star Trek series as well as the both the TOS and TNG-era film series.(So Michael Dorn is WRONG! Majel Roddenberry has, technically. had WAY more airtime than he had!)
